And realizing that is a stupid comment, for how elsewise I could have written this :)

The concert of Brian and Roger was great, it was
nothing new compared to the concert I saw in Dortmund, but one of
the main issues that was new and very nice to see were the huge video
walls on what you could perfectly see the guys
performing.
Brian made some mistakes in his playing, but he looked
super relaxed, was smiling what I haven't seen much,
anyway not in concerts.
Roger more then live-big at the video, stacey, I hope
you are jealous now, because you have reason to! :)
No, seriously now, I wished you all to be there, and all I can do is,
one of those days, track back to some scribbling. And if you have the chance,
what many of us will have, DO GO and see them. It is a testimonial concert,
okay, other then the name and songs it has nothing to do wit Queen from 20 years
ago, but those guys, Brian and Roger, they have so much potential and gathered
excellent musicians around them. Full worth every cent of the money spent!
If you ask me, do I need to see them for a 3rd time, then I honestly say, no, this is enough, it was good this way. Honestly forces me to admit that I was this time very much more impressed about Paul Rodgers, and that is not only because you get used to new faces and voices. Another voice then Freddie I will never get used to!
Okay, back off, back to the concert itself, have fun in reading it and just gimme some feedback if you feel like!
them for a 3rd time, it was perfect so, and I must say that I found Paul Rodgers having a fantastic voice, better then at the first performance that I saw.
They were all so relaxed, that was so good to see. And
the first show was for me very emotional, I missed
Freddie very very much and tho of course I missed him
now again, it was more fun, less loaded with
sentimental feelings. Maybe because I dancend and sang
all night and that me, my friends and my children had
a wonderful party, and this party was even surroundes
with fantastic music!
Of course the surprise from the first concert was a bit away, naturally no one can expect a brand new concert for the people who are able to join for the 2nd (or more) time, and well, as said, the concert itself was different. Was the first one very emotional, in this one in Arnhem the fun and party ruled so much, it was an extraordinary night, of course it helped alot to be there with great friends and my son and daughter, it seemed that in my family as well next generation is Queen mad.. Well done daddy, *pats proudly at his own shoulder*
And it felt like a huge queen meeting indeed. Nice climate, friendly people and tho I know many of my friends that were attending and who I missed, I was happy to at least having seen a couple.
Okay, on with the show now, here you have it!!
Because after all, of everyone, Brian and Roger were there too, and there it was
all about!
En we got the best that we could get.
Original me as well had expected a bit more spectacular show, especially with
the first performance I noticed that, but I thought later that it is not
compareable with what we got that time ago. The best what you can do, as band
who produced in 20 year no new songs, is giving the audience their singalongs,
the greatest hits and it worked of course, it worked damn well, our boys had
made an extraordinary show.
I doubt to believe that another group, with having had no new material for 20
years, could get such a great show of what people totally get a blast.
And the warming up... well, okay, it got hot enough later on, no one needed to warm up, didnt we?
First things first now! Enjoy reading and don't hesitate to give me your remarks and comments!

Pre fun
When the announcements were there about an open air
concert, in Holland, I right away ordered tickets, not waiting a second and
consequently before I was aware of the concert in Cologne as well. How good that
I ordered then, 'cos circumstances should later on change and not allow me to
make this trip at all. But, nothing to worry, we were on!
Of course it is a bit alot, 2 times to the same
concert in such a short time, but I knew already before that the circumstances
should be complete different.
Open air (what later sadly was changed!), and this time with very good friends and my son and daughter joining me, that are of course ingredients for seeing to another kind of Queen party this time as that in Dortmund, where we two had a wonderful, emotional rendezvous with the group that brought us together!
At that Sunday, July 10th 2005, at 13.00 I took the train to Holland, all alone this time, but okay, we got used to that a bit before, today it promised to become an extraordinary day..
The train to Holland, it was pretty warm and I did my best to pre-drink a bit, it was extraordinary hot outside, but the trains were not stucked over, also a relaxing trip towards Arnhem made me ending the train in Nijmegen. Errn yeah, exactly, the place where the open air concert did original get its location, but now about 20 miles further, in Arnhem. Construction works at the railway, so the bus took me to Arnhem and we passed the stadium on our way .. Geesh, so many people already there... Ah well, we should not want to be in the crowd that battled for first rows, hehe, others can do that and take their pics, what I generously borrow for here :)
At the station in Arnhem I met my son and daughter, we took something to eat, not being sure when we could get something again (you could not take food and drinks with you in the hall, they told), and then we took the shuttlebus to the place where it all was going to happen, the Gelredome in Arnhem.
At the stadium there appeared to be a large queue already, of course I was not
surprised, knowing some people who were there already at 12 (and now it was
16.30), and we set into the row, waiting for when the doors got open. There
were a few people that were a bit later as us as well, heh, but as said,
there was no urge to stay at the front row for us!
An hour later my friends (who were at start always
saying, no, we are no queenfans, but seemed to be switched over as well (boy,
I *do* have influence at people!). I think in fact they turned over already
when we went to the memorable queenconvention, in Prestatyn, Wales, a few
years ago, what you can read here about
We waited on in the queue, ate and drank a bit in the full sun, it was an
extraordinary hot day. Luckily the waiting time was going fast, no wonder with
the approperiate people around you.. I waved to astrid and Stefan, who we were
supposed to meet but well, there were so many that that did not work fully,
nevermind! He (stefan) yelled something that he saw an old man.. I guess he had
a mirror with him or so *innocent dumb look around now*
At 17.30 the stadium doors went open and we found our way back in. The security
was more strict then in Dortmund, those idiots took out my drink, the bastewds!!!
(I know, I know, it was written down that drinks were not allowed... but hey,
easy water.. dammit, scr*w them!). We went inside, it was very, very dark in the
corridoors and then, the hall, the big pink-blueish stage and music, the sound
of exciting people... We found our way to the front, not at the first row, not
at the second, not at all, but a relaxed place where we could spot the stage
brilliantly. Yes the roof was closed, not even an open air concert, dammit (2).
We irritated us big deal to the drinking policy in the dome. Drinks costed 2.60,
not only exrraordinary expensive, but only available with the to buy tickets,
that costed 5, 7,50, 10, 12,50 (dammit 3 and 4).
Sitting calmly on the floor, chatting and making fun a bit, we shared Annes'
liquirizes and we read the text messages that some people sent to the video
wall.
Now and then a familiar name popped by, ah well, seems some do have fun to have
their name seen big at the screen, but I had to laugh about the love declaration
of Maaike (and Jolien). Brian shall be impressed, :)
The time passed away relaxed and easy and all was in a very, very relaxing way
this time. No stress or being smashed like potatoes in a bag, no, just place
enough to chit, chat and have a relaxing wait.
It was time for the warm up, a band called Krezip, rock group. The first song
they needed to get used to play in such a big audience, then the singer told she
met Brian, nice info, at least he was there then! The 2nd song was okay,
and after that it became boring and we sat down again patiently waiting and
talking now a bit louder.. Finally they left stage, probably the larger part of
the applause was because it was finished. I am sorry, I don't underestimate the
things that a group has to do to play, but for christs' sake, who of the 20.000
was waiting for this kind of music? I should prefer no warming up act, 'cos this
was not leading to a real warm up, considering the reaction of the people
further on we were not the only ones who thought that way.
Talking on, we waited for what was coming up now. Not the same as in Dormumd,
the other gig I attendend, where there was hardly anyone smoking, now there were
a lot of people smoking around us, very annoying. It seemed there was a non
smoking request, as well on the tickets, but no one did consider that, I guess
that is typical dutch! :) It resulted in that, after the show, next day, my
voice was as hoarse as if I had had a nightout in a small smokey pub with loads
of drinks and smokes of course. Well, some find it sexy, and maybe the people
that I met that day (and what i write about waaaay later) did love it, hehehe.
Okay time was running slow, but still coming to sharp .
20.45
You can call it a normal start of an extraordinary night then!, and well, the
remix of dj como of it is a beautiful day is an extraordinary way to start a gig
with, it is soooo good to hear Freddie in such a crowd, and the crowd was loud,
o yes we were, weren't we, extraordinarily loud!
And it didnt get silent anymore from that moment on, and we, we danced and
moved til the last bit of the show, it was a great big party!
Tingeldingeldingel
plingelpingelpingel.. no one's gonna stop you now, no one's gonna stop you now..
o yea..
Freddie was agaín with us, and of course he
should stay with us the entire night, Freddie, man.. I do miss you! :(.
But
It''s a beautiful daaaaay
The song approaches its end, with the
O, yes, okay, we have to get through this...
Emmenem, for some odd reason it belongs to the
show this year, and again a big part of the audience, including myself dances
and sings.
We are standing with a lot of space around us, easily swinging and dancing,
and I must say, here, in this huge accommodation the song has its effect
Lately I've been too
hard to reach...
I've been been too long on my
ohoown
Blabla
Are you reaching out
for meeeheeehee, like I'm reaching out fooohhoooorr youhooo...
Halfway in the hall, at the catwalk Brian joins
Paul and the familiar notes of Tie Your Mother down bubble up...
Pahdanggg.. Tahdadammm
hey heeey
As a kind of (unwished) bonus we get Paul Rodgers' style with it, the evening
was extraordinarily filled with heeys and yea uh eahs. But okay, okay, I think I
am a bit more used to it, and the fun is there, Brian and Roger, the Queen songs,
great, and the hall explodes indeed!
Get your party gown,
get your pigtail down
Get your heart beating
baheyby...heyheyhey
A bit surprised about the (raw) voice of Paul. Did I hear it wrong last time?
Tie your mother down,
Yeah, rock on baby, and that is what we are doing (as far as I can, heh),
No no, it is not Queen, realy Freddie,
The feeling from the queen meetings is again there.
The spinned out final, hmmm delicious, guitar,
drums.. hmmmm... MADNESS!!! Yes, again already, and it is just the first song,
extraordinarily!
The applause and cheers of the audience are stunning, thundering
"Good evening
aaaarhemmm ehey"
Keyboards put on, we clap our hands sour and Paul
Whoos from enthusiasm a couple of times.
Guitar with it, and drums (of course my dear!!)
I want to breyheak freehee...
Ah well, a song that
is not exactly in Pauls' range, but no one has a problem with it, we help him
and sing so loud, paul lets us, ' I dont neee heed you hoo ', heh, it is karaoke
time. Rogers' backing vocals are remarkable and they are very important,
probably even more then with Freddie around and it is great to look to all the
details at the huge screensl
Het gelredome gaat volledig plat. Heerlijk,
absolute waanzin
Pomperdeepom pom pom
God knows *god Knows* I
want to Breakfree hee hee
Roger singing like an angel, Paul who
enjoys the accomodation and audience so much, Brian who is happily playing and
even smiles, and then of course the audience..
Brian has little difficulties with
I know that everybody got to breakfree
sometaahaaaims.. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!, now finally stop that
part, Paulie! Whoops, Brians guitar saves the situation a bit and the audience,
is having an extraordinary great time, everyone is knocked off their socks, it
is absolute madness!
Do you feel all riiiii iit? Yeaheahea...
Brians guitar plays, it is not exactly clear what
song he tries to play.. silent
Ooooooo ..
You're gonna take me home tonight
Singing only, Danny,
Jamie, Roger, Paul and the audience....
Hey ah hey!
And
the mass sang their karaoke again. For the explanation of the karaoke, the
difference, you can read the report of Dortmund, heh, yes, too lazy to copy it
here, so I let YOU all click right here.
Who was not warmed up by now, will always remain
cold!
The hall was boiling, it was hot and brian did ran far less
over the stage then for example in Dortmund. He, like all, were very relaxed,
what you could see perfectly at the screens, but it had some effects in that it
costed a bit more effort to get the music and all. Heh, well, we have the
records, and our voices, and our never-let-you-down attitude!
The voices, and the close views, what a lot of Roger
(trying to make 'someone' getting a bit jealous', were clear there! :) *heh* .
The fat bottomed girls
, the handclaps that makes it a complete new song (brian, what did you think when you wrote this?),
and it was almost visible... `*innocent look*
I got stiffness in my
bo hoones
Nah, I saved that for the other day, now no one
could stop me from (trying to) dance and (trying to) sing, the hall was boiling
and steaming, we enjoyed it so extraordinarily what we all heard and could see...
Get on your bikes and ride ayahiiaaiid......
How are you doing so far? You are singing good!
Yes yes :) of course we sing great, we know those songs for 20 years, how about
you? Ha, those are OUR songs that you are singing Mr Rodgers :)!
Allright, next song is from Paul himself
Wishing well is actually not a bad song, in fact, a bit rougher then the other
songs of Free-Badco, rough guitar playing (thanks Bri!). When you consider the
songs of Free and Badco, you seethat it is a fully other genre, a complete
different genre of music then the rock of Queen. It are more singalongs,
especially the ones chosen for the tour and they fit perfectly because the
relatively unknown songs are after 1 line that repeats endless as easy to sing
along as the queen songs.A polite swing at his songs is my thank you. My friends
and children do not know the music, but you see that they enjoy it, ah well,
that is nice, the show, the lights and a damn good lot of extraordinary
musicians!
Padah pam pam pam
That bass, that rocks! :) Where is Deacy?????? :(
First time I saw them performing this song and in this song Paul could realy
unlimited do his wheew, whooow, waaaw, yeahahyeah and so on. THe song swings
juicy, Dannys' bass, and you see that that guy is fully enjoying this group, he
has as much fun as the others. Nice for a relatively unknown bass player to get
nto the spotlights this way. Rogers' backing vocals make me maaaaaaad!!!!
Tam bedam dam, tam bedam dam..
this thing.. called love.. I just...
He can just handle it! Paul sang
Crazy little thing called love,
and made a party of it.
Yess, Paul at guitar as well now, and Brian, but what a weirdo thinies, guitars
that you can look through, but can you play on such things?
Until I'm ready - Are you ready Freddie
Of course we get here as well the worked out guitar and keyboard (spikey ruled,
with his weird jacket with the glittering sleeves, what makes it easy to put him
back about 25 years in time). Extraordinary jolly song and here as well,
everyone knows it so the success is easily gained!
And after this extraordinary mixture of instruments it became quiet..
Roger left his drum kit
Danny Miranda and Jamie Moses join him to the front of the catwalk, and Roger
today chose to make not the jokes about condoms and so. My friend Mac told me
that in the Wembley gig, almost a week later, he again made the joke, telling, 'everyone
of us is wearing condoms those days, and danny is even wearing two...'
My eyes are glued at the videowalls and I watch every move Roger makes. Of
course are there now people who start making a little talk with eachother, an
unknown song.. and a quiet one..
For me it is a wonderful song again, I enjoy every drop of it and lurk it deep
in, we can't get enough roger, can't we babe? *waves to his buddy in the US*, I
am sure you agree with me, and I see you having that wide smile at your face :)
.
The harder they fall.
the most beautiful songs are combined with the most emotional moments in human
life..
So true, let's not forget that.
It was impressive, and after this extraordinary big shot it was time for the
other Queen big shot.
Brian came in front of the stage, he babbled a
bit, that it is so wonderful to be in Arnhem and that he was a bit emotional.
The more then life-huge pictuere proves that he realy enjoys it. It is hot, and
Brian is truely emotional, it looks like that. Good ol brian, always good for a
little tear!
I expect you to
entertain me, okay?"...
Aaah, yes, that is so nice of you. We paid our
bones to entertain you? Hmmmm, mumblemumblemum
When the first tune of
After this festive song it is time for a serious note (hey, it *IS*
Brian, right!?) and a concert without this song is in fact unimaginable (holy
cow, what a word, I wonder if I spell that correctly!)
"thank you for
making Queen real.
An extraordinary cheer rolls on, of course (this was an easy one), always
nice to get tickled yourself, right :). And seriously, when
How relaxed Brian is tonight, and how emotional
as well...
I think that Brian never did that, in his musical carreer.. a melancholic
moment in the show, for sure..

![]()
Later, days later, I heard that there were possibilities to discharge the cards,
but they hidden that so well that no one ever was able to find it (dammit 5 as
well for the gelredome).
Yeah, no weird versions of WWRY, this time.. and thanks heaven not any weirdo
trying to make a wave...
one two three four..
Bass guitar, easy start..
plonkeplonk, plonkeplonk
Somehow it works, the synergy of move yourself fits in a strange way.
Brians' guitar joins at the end of the song, reason for half of the audience to
get into extacy, and then it is silent for a few seconds..
Hey, look there, someone points to me. O ha! Paul at the catwalk, we were
watching him more then life big at the huge video walls, and Paul all the sudden
appeared at the end of the catwalk, how did he do it?!
whoopy! There they are, here are we coming for! Rogers beat and Brians
outrageous guitar, yes, we're all back baby, Queen rocks and how! Extraordinary,
Madness!!
All night I keep on irritating me at too much heeyahheyyyy from Paul, but the
climate is hot, it is a big party going on and I enjoy it so much, it is the
biggest party ever in the Gelredome in Arnhem. I see that my son sings along
with the songs, and my daughter dances, my friends enjoy it and as in the old
days, only one look between each other and we understand each others humor.
Hmmmm, yea baby *austin power mood* Absolute madness, fantastic!
without you it will
never be the same, and that is so true! But again, this is
the best you can get!).
The gentlemen are showing very well at the giga huge video walls and now and
then I have to force myself to look back at stage, or at the long catwalk, it is
remarkable, it seems way longer then the one in Dortmund..in his own style..
woohooow,
tells Paul, and we continue :)
Paul was more convinced of what he sang, what made already a huge difference to
the former show I had, sorry, but it is natural I guess to compare!

Another
one bites the dust..
Good question, I dont need an answer, but this is HIS song, I guess
Good
that Brian Later takes back his gran lady on his neck, but it looks kinda funny,
again the big advantage of those huge screens that you can see those details so
well. Oh yea, heh, let me not forget to look on stage now and then, HA!!
But not tonight. A serious announcement of the new song (new, ha!), that was
especially written for the
concert
in 2004. Am I mistaken or does Roger sound a bit tired? Or did he party the wild
life in Holland, the eveing before? :) In the singing itself you notice nothing
anymore of it, anyways.

Say it ain't true
, every time I hear that song, I thnk, yes, this man is right. I read a
few weeks ago the news that Nelson Mandelas' son died on aids as well, a while
ago. That makes this song extra bitter, but at the same time incredible
beautiful.
Love of my life..
and there we go again!
Brian sings the first 3 words, and then the 20.000 voices prove how
good they know the lyrics and that they all listened those years again and
again to the wembley dvd. In the meantime I wonder when Queen, when Freddie (I
know...) sang that song entirely for the last time, without letting it to the
audience..
And again an
extraordinary applause for our own singing, the crowd is wild and enjoying this
extraordinary night, absolute madness and it was that time of the evenig again....
Another ballad alike to oome
Here we stay... and here we fall..
And I, we, know that it will come..
Tam derdaam, tam derdaaamm...
We land again in the extraordinary mixture of
heyahaeey and whoo hoo and Rock and Roll.. Li and I am happily whoo-ing with
them, as if it had not been gone, heh!.
And the children enjoy theirselves so much as well, it is realy a fantastic
evening with them and then such a fantastic climate.
Now it is time for Paul to step into the footlights.
Feel like making love
is a good song for in an audience that is willing to sing on anything that is
done on stage. It starts nice and calm and in the end it realy beats you up and
even can force me to swing a bit more then just a little bit. The power is in
its simplicity, musically spoken and also in lyrics, I guess that is typical!
Time to relax a bit, a bit of the pressure
off, and then the gents are leaving stage, leaving Roger alone behind his drums.
For me it could last forever, I was totally rocked my
socks off, of course, Roger can do that and it takes a bit to get my socks off
cos I always am barefoot during the summer!
It is way too fast over, it is absolutelye
extraordinary blowing me away, and it is not only me, it is like the roof is
coming down, heck, why isnt it open air as promised ... Wipes sweat from the
head. In the mean time that man from 55 is back at his drumkit .. and if you
think it is over, no way. Can I stand anymore? Hell yes, it is Roger, and he can
do that to us (cant he babe?)
1 2 3, 1 2 3, zijn nummer inzet.
I'm in love with my car.
That song is so much Roger, it is so real, it is
so good and if anyone ever dares to say that it is an easy song to drum and to
sing, I only can say that I dont know many who can drum and sing at the same
time and sure not at such a level as Roger. Beat me for it, but it is a fact!
Hmm hmmm hm hm hm..
such a clean machine...
Hammer to Fall , slow version, fits
wonderful after LOML. And of course this slow one is not at the Queen greatest
hits, so some people happily take a break, but I love it. It was through this
slow version that I understood the content of this song pretty well. It is
surprising some, well, not the die hards, but for us the lucky ones there is no
realy surprise at all, or it must be the changes of clothes that the men do in
between. Yea men, it was a bit hot there, I tell you!
, the very well succeeded cover of the drum solo once given by
Sandy
Nelson, and Brian lets his special speak now and then as well. It is wonderful,
I hear some shortcuts of some other songs in it as well and it cannot last long
enough, boy oh boy, what do I like this, it is such an extraordinary experience,
woo hoo :)
delicious to scream, I mean sing along with it,
as if I feel the pistons pumpin right away, (ha!)...
Roger
Rulez! Assisted by Brian and ending in an extraordinary applause from the audience,
whoa, that man can make a crowd go wild, geesh, and what o what does that man
has that makes so many teenagers getting wild and excited too? Not my daughter,
she laughs, jumps and I suspect her to secretly raise an eyebrow on her father.
But, as being one who was at a Queenparty before she knew what she could expect! We are not even slightly mad, or mad, bad and dangerous to know, no, we are
just... having a Queen party. Roger gets his deserved break, we too, and Brian
takes over stage for his famous and at the dvd's always to be skipped GUITAR SOLO Wonderful light effects and the huge disc ball what transfers the hall in a
deep dark space. And dont forget the videos behind Brian, while he climbs upon
stage and seems to end at the roof of Bucks' Palace. It makes the solo light to
eat, and it brings back the memories to that party at the Queens'.
It will never be my song but it was nice to watch and calmly waiting til it
is all over, enjoying the effects of sounds and light. And we all enjoy it,
perfect moment to get some drinks as well. Brian remains being the guitar wizzard that he is for all those years.
As said before, during the entire show you see him trying his utmost to be
prominent on stage. He looks so relaxed this time and I guess that that's why he
might be a bit loosing the tune at the end of LOST HORIZON ,
(I know, it is an a, but I love the o better) Brian is in the clouds (or is it
7th heaven? not sure), the highest chords get a bit lost. The (dutch)
audience is sweet as eer and forgives the musician on forehand already all what
probably might not be as perfect as that Queen always tries to be. It is a big
party, on stage, in the hall, and everyone has a wonderful evening, it reflects
from and to the artists, you can tase it so well. The applause fades away, the tape starts with the rhytm beat of THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES
and Roger is singing again.. Yes. Yes, he is there again, Roger is DA man of the evening... Pitty, black
is not the best color for you, Meestah Taylor! Roger and Brian together on stage, with this fucking emotional song.
I stil love you Freddie, dammit, dammit, dammit. :(
Roger is not saying it, but the load in the song proves it.. Brian and
Roger do miss him very much as well, you can feel it... Freddie is with them,
and the emptyness cannot be filled, should not be filled.
When Roger sings his joke

The
early Japanese recording at the backscreen, they fit so good, looking back and
in the mean time knowing so well..
'
Yes. yes, we knw it Hans :) But I wanted just to say it and rub it in :)
Pampadapam pam pam pampadapam pam pam..
Yesssssss
yessss... THAT man again!
And the violence kept on going on, the singalong above all and the clap ahead of ever was coming up, and Roger gave us his best shot (shhhh, dont even THINK about it girls!) ..just because he is so good in 'it' (back off, not that, but it! I mean err, nevermind, lemme concentrate on things that I know about ha!)..
Radio Gaga
, Rogers' song again, it gets boring, not? Never ever! :) No one complains and then Paul comes and joins the song (lemme see, I guess there was a bit more complaining now). Hands up, hands down, throat open, jumping, sining, swinging, not a second of allowing to get some rest, hell no, rest is for oldies rite!. I have heard Roger singing it so often, but it always is a lovely song to just join, hands in the air, almost scary, the mass hysteria, I feel it, but it is nice and it loasts only a few minutes, so let's have the fun! Not what you name a rock concert, but a wonderful back in the time show!Clapped off (huh?) and sang out (hmm, my english s**ks big time) it is time for a less intense moment. Paul sings his song,
can't get enough of your love
a very well chosen singalong in what Paul can go on his own level in full speed, the audience can recover a bit for next ones, ah well, it is a balanced show and it remains all happiness ? and joyful. Tje (dutch) audience remains extraordinary loyal, thus Paul is closed in their arms. I am neutral, so I sing along as well, but not so loud that I can hear myself singing :). He sings nicely, but a rock concert... like with Freddies voice... don't think about expecting such a thing, who cares init!!
Peeeww...peeeeww.. Lightshows, guitar chords. Sins are tickled for another highlihgt ... so much Queen.. so bombastic, so extraordinary...
and Freddie babbles with us, introducing next song... Lights, guitarsparkles...
it is....
a kind of magic
The pictures speak for theirselves, I guess, even if those extraordinary
pictures are not taken there (and it is up to you to guess where, hahaha, no one
dares that challenge I guess)
Magical, it takes you, it shakes you.. just cool, a highlight of the evening,
and I think that most of who were at a concert can agree it.. Geesh, what a
great atmosphere to describe an orgasm aaarhg.. and as said before...
who needs drugs when we have queen? :),
and no one can stop them now, our boys rules, yes,
Queen Kicks Ass
Big Time!
Brian asks us like a good (grand)dad if we are doing fine..
yeaaaaaaah
and if we got it all?
Nooooo
One moment I tink I am in kindergarden, but okay, it is Brians' way to introduce one of MY favorites of the evengn, yessssssssssssssss Rock, rock rock,
Roger: One Two Three!!
Whoa! Awesome! It swings extraordinarily and for a few seconds I get that old feeling, with the instrumental parts of the song, the sparkles fly from it and it is a little miracle that the house is not on fire.. But we are! It's hot it's cool and yea Queen rocks baby, wooooooooohooooo!!!
And again I need some air, but next song, well, it is somehting special.. it more takes our breath away. It is a very typical Queen song, and it is good that it never is performed alive, because that should rape the song.Anyway, it is so nice to hear it, the song that everyone knows, what is not my all time favorite, but that is so much a monument itselves as Queen is..
Bohemian Rhapsody is in fact the Queen "hymne" itself.
Well it is stil party time in the gelredome, but if you see Freddie this way, if you hear and see him so more then life big, with his heart and soul, then I don't feel sorry to admit that I have to swallow some tears away.
Brian and Roger made Bohemian Rhapsody an absolute all time monument of honor for the man without who Queen never should have become what it was all thos years.
Mamaaaa....
Impressive, Brian en Roger met Freddie. En where the hack is that John???? :(
The mama mia opera part is coming up and brian and Roger disappear from stage. Everyone tries to scream as wonderful as not even Queen could do it. But.. none succeeded of course. No one can ever get close to what those boys made so perfect, and every attempt is in fact a rape of the song. At this part belongs light, smoke (aargh, no smoking Dammit!) and just music from tape (what came from tape at many songs in the background).
The apotheose approaches, and Paul is allowed to sing along a part again, how nice from Roger and Brian, but for me... it was not needed... Paul leaves it then to us, the audience, what is probably the best choice, but in
Nothing realy matters tooooo meeeeeee... he unfortunately lowers the song again with some heeeyahheyeyey.. Shame shame shame!!
A well. The end of the concer.. Okay, we wait for the encores, and Queen, the perfectionists, let us all wait for exactly 5 minutes before entering stage again, just like it should be.
The gents return on stage, Brian, so predictable, in his remarkable flaming shirt (I do hope it is washed some times in between), Paul in blue this time (if I remembered it corectly, not a big deal anyway)
Bakc again, and there must have been a little earthquake, because the audience was absolutely out of control, the boys just have to look and the dutchies already act as like they are seeing world champions getting a new record.. The hall is a big pub at the moment, the drinks, the smoke... we smell it days later in our clothes, but ah well, that is not important, we want mooooooree and get it.
Now some critical notes. In my opinion now Queen makes a very huge mistake in
playing The show Must Go on. That song realy is raped b Paul Rodgers, because he
is not only singing the high 'show must go on' s like Freddie (hard to describe),
but he adds as well an extra low the show must go on in where originally is the
pause.. It fully takes the power off from this song and I realy should say back
off from this song, it is Freddie who is supposed to sing! (yes yes, May wrote
it, I KNOOOOOW).
It is realy a pitty that this song now is made this way, it sure was not needed.
Brian has to learn that he cannot give that song away, it is so much ashame,
words fail me to say how I feel about that, in the for the rest extraordinary
fantastic concert.
The show must go on,
still some tears to swallow away, but the hurt is more in how it is sang.
The evening is not ended fully, before Paul has song the one and only song that entire Europe knows, and there it comes.
All right now, de most well known song song of Free is sang with enormous enthusiasm, that for a neutral spectator might give the impression that it was a million seller in Holland as the other songs that we heard tonight.. The lyrics fit perfect in how the evening was.. Party, cheerness, happiness, the song is extened to a one liner from 10 minutes (yawn, 5 minutes will do boy. heh), singalong, in what Paul enjoys himself very much. The loyal and criticless auidience sings along as in the other songs.
Cöapclap Stomp, Clapclap Stomp
Pedenggggg
Yes, allrighty, there he is.. The absolute extraordinary gigasingalong of
Queen,
We will Rock you. And that is what
they did tonight, until in the deepest spot! Okay, it might not have been always
the show of the loudest rock band in history, but anyway it is proved again that
just Brian and Roger are worthy carryers of the Queen songs.
Great to stamp the feets, clap the hands, sore the throats..
Weee willl weeeeeeee willlll rock you, and of course there were again a
couple of very tough boys who were changing the lyrics and replaced the word
rock with the F word... Impressing everyone.. *giggles**
And when wwry is over, of course the siam twin that is hanging on it comes up
and for the last time we sing out as loud as we can with
j We are the champions, as feeling the
unity with brian and roger, because they are with Freddie the boys that already
reign my life for over 30 years and as well the international music world.
Bigger then the Beatles, the bigger the better dahling :):):) in
EVERYTHING!!!
The champs say goodbye while God Save The Queen is playing.

As in a tradition Roger throws a pair of drumsticks in the audience.. Probably not have played one note with it, but does that realy matter?
We have had the night of our life, it was fantastic to be there together with my children and with my friends to experience this extraordinary thing. It is a worthful closure of the Queen chapters as in playing live. A thing that I, just like Brian, never had expected that we should ever experience. And I can only hope that the gentlemen with this tour make a worthful end at their queen concerts, in style of the man whose spirit make Queen as big as they are, our beloved Freddie.
Brian, Roger, thank you!

Tired, but satisfied we left the stadium. Under the tones of track 13.. Funny,
as if in the start of the tour it was the first song they did, now it was the
outtro. A guy asked me if I was at a queen party a time ago. Yes I was, so I
said so.. and that was enough for him.. Nevermind, we went out and then to the
MacDonalds to hand Freddie its jacket back, what he forgot after his gig in
Cologne at our place. There we met Ymke again and a nice rendezvous with my
london mates and not just london friends annelies and maaike (we went to the FM
tribute in London together, ah well, more events, but that one is readable at
.
It was nice to have met them and we had a bit of difficulties to leave arnhem (picked
up my bag at the station, might have been a little mistake...), but we came home
at 1 am. Anne and Thijs were already before 12 at home, telling they have had an
extraordinary evening, and I can only agree about that!
================
The morning after
I woke, I think, around 8 and took a fresh shower.
Had a nice chat with my good ol friend Lisette, realizing again how similar our
humor is, and how much we can laugh with little words. Mind the belly pains, but
who cares realy for that in this case.
It was nice, it was an extraordinary good morning, what was followed with an
extraordinary short meeting at Utrecht Centraal with Hedwig, who is about to
become the globe trotter and we seem to catch up where ever we go in the
Netherlands.
Too short for a good talk, but long enough for some food and
shoppings, I left at 13.00 to visit my good old (more then) Queen friend Jaye.
Again someone I met through queen and who has become a very good friend. We have shared many up and downs and as usual it was nice as well to meet her too. And because all good thngs last too short it was at 17 time to go home, leave holland behind!
The trains were going in time, and I was smoothly
and in time in Venlo to take the train to Germany back.
Stepping out of the train the feared sound came on, a message.
Due to extraordinary weathercircumstances the train of 8 will not go. O kay, wonderful. Then another frenc fries, heh, and waiting an hour. And then finally the train home, where I have not seen any sign of extraordinary weather, but where I was catched up by an extraordinary woman.
Freddie looked at us,, closing his cloud and he knew it was good!
